- The initials A.D. (Andrea Debono) seen by Fergusson in Cinq Semaines.

- The text carved in a rock at the North Pole in Hatteras.

- The initials S.V. (Samuel Vernon) found on the trunk of a sycamore at the
river bank in Un Capitaine de 15 Ans.

- The texts written by Nordenskjold, Tudor Brown and Schwaryenkrona at the end
of Epave du Cynthia.

- Would you count the message attached to the flagpole in Deux Ans de Vacances?

- The message left under a rock by Hodge Urrican in Testament d'un Excentrique.

... and I'm sure I missed a few. You may also find examples "hidden" in an
illustration, but I can't think of any right now.

Epitaphs, crosses etc. don't count, I think?

Best regards,
Garmt.

PS This would have been a nice question for my rare entries contest! :)
