The other day I saw a video movie on Link TV of an Indian scientest who had developed a computer kiosk. It was to be placed in urban slums and in small villages. There was no instruction, it was left for the children to teach themselves. The movie was called "The Hole in the Wall". Needless to say the children immediately taught themselves how to surf the web etc play games, visit Disney sites, etc.

There was a connection here with the obelisk in "2001" scripted by A.C. Clarke, and the movie's author made a visit to Colombo to visit Sir Arthur. The last 15 minutes or so of the film is a documentary of his visit to Sir Arthur's digs in Colombo, and his conversation with him: almost seems like you had been invited into his living room, book room, computer room, etc. Lots of discussion of 2001, etc. Anyone interested in historical sci-fi will not want to miss this one, but unfortunately it will probably not be generally available.
