Dear friends!

To know the life of Jules Verne, I suggest it is god
to know more about his friends; the A
Bouduaire-involvment is a good example.

I tried to make it easy for my, and have surfed on the
wide-world-waste... — web, I mean — and searched for
liasons between Verne and the Alexandre Dumas.

We know that Jules Verne was on 'a evening' at Théâtre
Historique at February 17 1849 (is this date correct?)
and he used Dumas pere's private loge, and with
company of Dumas pere's private mistress Maya Abanes.

I don't know exactly how the story runs, I found out
that Lottman's and Costello's books differs; they
don't give identical information about how Jules Verne
met Alexandre Dumas pere (and fils). There is also
stated that Jules Verne worked as secretary for Dumas.
My questions: when did it happend and where?

I think Jules Verne got to knew Dumas pere right in
time when he owned the famous house Château de
Monte-Cristo. It is located a bit outside of Paris
(well, we talking about 1850-ies...) and I wonder if
Jules Verne did spent his time at this place, and if
he did; for how long? If I got right information; was
this Château de Monte-Cristo sold the same year?

If anybody have some information about Jules Verne
from this tima, I should be very happy to know. I also
would like to know what kind of work he did for Dumas
pere. Also if there are some stories about Château de
Monte-Cristo, a house that was frequented by a lot of
people.

Thanks, my friends!

Best regards
Peter Harold
