Yes, I mentioned even an earlier German article (W. v. H.: "Jules Verne uns seine Schriften", Neue Freie Presse [Wien], October 3, 1874) in my original question. But I was not sure how scholarly this work actually is. Still, it seems that the position of pioneers of Vernian studies rests on Germans...
