This subject was just discussed in the german forum, unfortunately only in german. Who knows german can have a look at www.jule-verne-forum.de in the column "Buch" and then "Übersetzungen &Leseproben". On the example of "Round the world in 80 days" 22 publications are analysed resulting in 16 different translations...

It is no less interesting to look at the number of translations of one work in one language. Could anyone find more than 8 translations of one work into the same language? So many times the VINGT MILLE LIEUES SOUS LES MERS was translated into Czech.
