Many thanks, Nejat, for setting me right.
But what do you mean by "volumes"? The original volumes, i.e. each part of the book is one volume? If so, then Unzeitig almost matched Ferid Namik Hansoy with 47 volumes (including Michel's works).
Still, a great tribute belongs to Ferid Namik Hansoy. The more so, when you told me about his accuracy. Vaclav Netusil (a contemporary of your translator), having 39 volumes translated was not so accurate. First, because of the communist regime in which he translated (many omissions of religious parts), and second, because of grave cuts (sometimes even of whole chapters) in novels published in a cheap edition.
Vitezslav Unzeitig, on the contrary, was rather accurate, but the synthax seems equally strange, since our language developed very quickly over the last century.
Sincerely
Jan
