Speaking of Scottish characters, do I remember that Tom Turner, associate of
Robur, was a Scot, or at least had Scotch/Irish/Nordic-like red hair? I've
long thought that Robur might have worked as an engineer for Nemo on the Nautilus
at X-Island, then went off on his own, and took Turner and possibly others
with him to another Island, and then later to the Aerie. Given the strange
anachronisms of all the stories, is this possible? David McCallister
