Yesterday, I called the Centre international Jules Verne in Amiens and here
are some practical information about how to be part of the Mondial Jules
Verne in Amiens in 2005:
You have two ways to attend. One is to choose one of the three programs
suggested (3, 6 or 7 days). If you don't want to attend all events, get
yourself a hotel (in Google, ask for Amiens and hotel...) and pay at the
entrance of every event you attend. The Centre international Jules Verne
has agreed with these two ways of doing. In a near future, the Centre will
have a form on its website (www.jules-verne.net) you will be able to fill
up and securely give your credit card number. The form will have the
definite prices.The two important events are the celebration of Jules
Verne’s death at the cimetière de la Madeleine and the possibility to know
each other better, mainly during the free afternoon and the symposium.
Downtown Amiens is not big and can easily be visited by foot. The only
vernian place outside of downtown is the cimetière de la Madeleine, where
transportation is needed. You will have to remember that the European
currency is higher than the US dollar and that European hotel rooms are
small. Don’t expect too much space! To get to Amiens, the best is to fly
into Paris (Orly or Charles-de-Gaulle). From the airport, either public
transportation, like subway (RER or metro), or taxi to the Gare du Nord.
Don’t think about the TGV, the high-speed train, which stops outside of
Amiens. But from the Gare du Nord, in the part called Grandes Lignes (not
banlieue), get a ticket to Amiens. Almost every hour there is a “normal”
train (one hour journey) with only a few stops to Amiens. Looking forward
to see many of you in Amiens in March 2005.

J'ai appelé hier le Centre international Jules Verne à Amiens et voici
quelques informations comment participer au Mondial Jules Verne à Amiens en
2005:
Vous avez deux moyens de participer. L'une est de choisir un des trois
programmes suggérés (3, 6 ou 7 jours). Si vous ne voulez pas participer à
toutes les manifestations, réservez vous-même un hôtel (dans Google,
demandez Amiens et hôtel...) et vous paierez à l'entrée de chaque
manifestation. Le Centre international Jules Verne est d'accord avec ces
deux manières de faire. Dans un proche avenir, le Centre aura un
formulaire3 d'inscription sur son site Web (www.jules-verne.net) et vous
pourrez le remplir et ainsi transettre de manière sécurisée votre numéro de
carte de crédit. Ce formulaire d'inscription aura les prix définitifs. Les
deux importants événements seront la commémoration de la mort de Jules
Verne au cimetière de la Madeleine et la possibilité de mieux se connaître
les uns les autres durant le colloque et l'après-midi libre. Le centre
d'Amiens n'est pas grand et peut être visité à pied. Le seul lieu vernien
en dehors du centre est le cimetière de la Madeleine, nécessitant un moyen
de transport. Le moyen le plus simple d'aller à Amiens est de prendre le
train (une heure de trajet) à la Gare du Nord (côté Grandes Lignes) à
Paris, que l'on peut atteindre facilement par le métro, le RER ou en taxi
de n'importe quel autre point de la capitale française. Je me réjouis de
rencontrer le plus grand nombre d'entre vous à Amiens en mars 2005.

und hier sind einige Tipps um mitzumachen:
Sie haben zwei Möglichkeiten, um mitzumachen. Die Erste ist eine der drei
Programme zu wählen (3, 6 oder 7 Tagen). Wenn Sie nicht an allen
Ereignissen mitmachen wollen, dann reservieren Sie selbst ein Hotel (in
Google, fragen Sie nach Amiens und Hotel...) und Sie zahlen am Eingang
jedes Ereignisses. Das Centre international Jules Verne ist mit diesen zwei
Möglichkeiten einverstanden. Bald wird das Centre ein Anmeldungsformular
auf seinem Website haben (www.jules-verne.net) und Sie werden dieses
Formular füllen können und so, in einem sicheren Weg, Ihre
Kreditkartennummer überweisen. Dieses Anmeldungsformular wird die
Definitiven Preise haben. Die zwei wichtigen Ereignisse werden das Andenken
Jules Vernes Tod im cimetière de la Madeleine und die Möglichkeit uns
besser zu kennen während dem Symposium und dem freien Nachmittag. Das
Zentrum von Amiens ist nicht sehtr gross und kann bei Fuss besucht werden.
Der einzige Ort ausseits Amiens-Zentrum ist der cimetière de la Madeleine,
wo ein Transportmittel notwendig ist. Ich freue mich eine grosse Zahl von
Euch in Amiens in Mäarz 2005 sehen zu dürfen.
