Dear friends!

There have been a discussion about if/when Jules Verne
made his travel to Scandinavia and his visit in
Sweden. Was it happening in 1861 as it is mentioned in
several biographies, or in 1862, as Jules Verne
himself wrote in at least two letters and one
interview? I can now proudly give you the correct
answer, and I am happy to share this informationto to
the Jules Verne Forum for the first time.

I can't take the credits by myself. I had to thank
Margareta Andersson at Stockholms Stadsarkiv, who have
been kind to search for this information in the
archives of Stockholm city.

Jules Verne visited Stockholm in july 1861. He arrived
from France and checked-in the July 8th at "Hotel
Rydberg". I think he could have been in company; also
the royal lawyer Emile Lorois did arrived to the hotel
the same day. Next time I have some spare time, I will
read (or make copies of) the original documents. Of
course this will be included in my future swedish
biography about Jules Verne.

I will continue my work to follow the foot-steps of
Jules Verne, in his journey through Sweden.

Best regards
Peter Harold, Stockholm
