More precisely, what the Italian text says is that "according to Edmundo
Marcussi [that would be Edmondo Marcucci, one of the founders of the
Societe Jules Verne] introduced Kropotkin to Jules Verne and the prince, a
geographer and anarchist, provided the author with geographical and
political documentation about Siberia, which he used when writing Michel
Strogoff."
So it doesn't say that Kropotkin's political ideas influenced Verne's
geographical description.
