Many thanks to Lionel for rectifying this problem. I of course fully accept
the excuses, but not as coming from him, who is entirely blameless, but from
the publisher, La Clef d’argent.

 

In the one paragraph which disappeared from my article in both the book and
on the publisher’s website, I was slightly critical towards (a) the
comparative level of online information about Verne within France in French
(b) Francophone writers and publishers in social sciences, excluding
literature, who choose to publish in English (c) the promotion of
French-speaking by French officialdom outside France and (d) the
communication profile of one of the Verne research centres in France. As
Lionel kindly says, the paragraph is the last one in my article on

It seems that one francophone publisher is more fragile than I had hoped!

 

I’d like to take this opportunity to repeat what I said about Lionel Dupuy’s
useful and informative book: let’s hope it goes into a 2nd edition!

Bonjour à toutes et à tous,

Une partie (la fin) de la postface écrite par Bill dans mon dernier essai a
été mystérieusement coupée dans mon essai. Je n'y suis pour rien, bien au
contraire.

J'aimerais par ce Forum réparer cette regrettable erreur et présenter mes
excuses à Bill pour cette coupe mystérieue. Vraiment, j'en suis navré,
d'autant plus que la partie coupée correspond parfaitement à ce que je
pense... et les compliments de bill témoignent indiscutablement que je
n'avais aucun intérêt, personnellemen, de couper cette partie. Il semble
qu'il y ait eu tout simplement un oubli dans la formalisation par mon
éditeur du texte. Rien de plus qu'un regrettable oubli que je souhaite
réparer ainsi.
