Thanks to Bablefish I suppose got a correct spelling
in the headline for this message. I can't write in
French, as you all know. Hardly English too...

I will be out-of-office for the next four weeks, and
will keep my life far from the web as much as
possible. If you want to get in touch with me on-line,
you will fail.

I wish to spend these weeks with re-reading many of my
old Verne books and also to do a tour through Sweden,
hopefully find any old first (and only-one) printings
at some obscure flea-market with old books left in the
dark corners. Last summer (or was it two years ago?)
we got an invasion from Netherlands, with parts of the
crew capturing the only known example of a Swedish
translation of "Mistress Branican" (you lucky b....rd,
Garmt!), so I have to keep my eyes much more open then
ever, to keep the treasures within the borders! ;-)

It is a sad fact that the Royal Library of Sweden lost
some examples of the old Jules Verne-books. In fact,
we had an affair with a librarian who stole many old
books. Later he commit suicide by bursting up his
apartment. I hope anyway we will get a copy of these
books and scan them for the web.

Beside making my collection of books bigger, my
intention is also to re-travel the Scandinavian
journey Jules Verne did in 1861, with a climbing up to
the top of Gausta mountain i Norway (my second try).
As we can read in "Un Billet de loterie", Sylvius Hog
spent one day long for making it up to this top. I
guess Jules Verne also made it. It would be great if
someone could put some light of his notes from this
trip.

I took a look in the archives of this Forum, and got
my attention to the Poland-Verne question. Verne wrote
a text about the topic, and I guess we are many that
wants to know more about what he wrote. I felt the
question was left without any substantial answer.
Anyone that can give some light to this question?

Til then, my friends, I hope you will enjoy a nice
summer (if you live on this hemisphere)! I hope my
in-box will be filled with 500 interesting messages
(beside the obligatory spam of viagra and
dating-services).

Sorry for writing this long letter, but you all
members do inspire me with your fantastic work!

Best regards,
Peter Harold
