Dear Colleague,
Verne certainly travelled down the Irish coast - as he himself recorded in
his carnet of a journey to America.

Subject: Jules never been to Ireland
Dear Irish Vernian friend,
May i help you about Jules 's navigations?
As i have translated the notesbook taken by Jules on bord of his St Michel
yachts, i can affirm to you that he never sailed to or around Ireland.
This is an old legend due to the success of "P'tit bonhomme".
In the interview he gave to Mac Clure's magazine in 1893, he said himself :
"...as i have never been in Ireland, my descriptions of landscapes and
cities were coming from books".
So, sorry, but Jules never discovered your lovely country, but still wrote
fine pages about him!
