Does this mean then that Jules had no knowledge of what Queenstown (Around the World in Eighty Days) was like, despite the fact that he correctly noted there was a transport link from Queenstown to Dublin (and by association a link from Dublin to Liverpool)?

    Dear Mr. O'Sullivan,

concerning the illustrations of P'tit bonhomme I can give you a hand. Just mail me directly and ask your questions you might have about and give me your demands. Meanwhile concerning quantity and some more you might have a look at http://www.jules-verne-club.de/Kaleidoskop/Chromotypo_06.html and http://www.jules-verne-club.de/Download/Illustrations_Hetzel_online.pdf

Bills reply to Ph. Valetoux is right - but sailing along the coast is not really visiting the country, so even if Jules Verne saw something from the irish coast he never met his feet on that island, as it seems and as far as we know...

    Best regards

      Dear Colleague,

Verne certainly travelled down the Irish coast - as he himself recorded in his carnet of a journey to America.

            Dear Irish Vernian friend,

May i help you about Jules 's navigations?

As i have translated the notesbook taken by Jules on bord of his St Michel yachts, i can affirm to you that he never sailed to or around Ireland.

This is an old legend due to the success of "P'tit bonhomme".

In the interview he gave to Mac Clure's magazine in 1893, he said himself : "...as i have never been in Ireland, my descriptions of landscapes and cities were coming from books".

So, sorry, but Jules never discovered your lovely country, but still wrote fine pages about him!
