Well said, Ian, I couldn't agree more. This sort of discussion has
popped up on the JVF once or twice before. On those occasions, regrets
have been expressed that personal rivalries and strife were discussed
on a forum that is meant to promote discussion on Verne and his works,
but it seems impossible to get rid of that kind of unpleasantness
altogether. I don't think censorship would be a good idea (for
moral/intellectual as well as practical reasons), some self-regulation
of the list as a collective, like Ian's "please don't do this"
message, is preferable.
Remember Zvi's signature: "If you can't say something nice, don't say
anything at all."
