  Hello Everybody,

I obviously have to say that I am a bit astonished that, after several years of plenty questions of a lot of people about the "when will come the collection of digitalized illustrations", the demand for the first DVD of this project is rather rare, at least from the French and English spoken areas of our "Verneworld".

Actually it can be said that only the German, Dutch and Scandinavian Vernians proved their interest, aside of some very few from France and the other side of the Atlantic. Surely, not everyone is interested in everything around Jules Verne, and I never imagined a very high interest. But I thought that - like it is in the Netherlands - at least from France and the US, maybe also GB, will be some 5 to 10 Vernians of each region having interest in it. Actually the interest (aside of the contributors to this project) is below 5 in these areas.

Somebody have an idea what might be the reason? Or...maybe my mail below didn't reached everybody due to some vacation time? So just again below my former message....

   Best wishes to everyone

  Bernhard

Jules Verne illustré DVD 4/4 available now

Announced since years and attended by a lot of Jules-Verne-fans, Bernhard Krauth can now offer the first of four coming DVDs with the digitalized illustrations from the original French publications (mainly from Hetzel editions, but also from first publications like Musée des familles, Figaro illustré; as well as contemporaneous newspapers)

This first DVD will be in the final alignment the fourth DVD, so for that DVD 4/4, and contains the illustrations of the short stories, theatre plays, historical and geographical works as well as other writings, as well as the cover illustrations as can be seen on the website of the German Jules-Verne-Club. All this pictures are giving in a high quality resolution. The pictures are supported by text sheets with informations about the works themselves, as well as the picture captions (as far as given) German and...English!

The content of the DVD is tri-lingual: French, German and English. The Canadian René Paul has created an user-program which starts automatically when inserting the DVD, and gives f.e. options like choosing the language of use and much more. Aside of that program is still the option to read the writings by common browsers and watch the pictures with any image viewer program. Details please have a look on the manual and introduction file on the DVD (DVD.html) To catch an idea how the program is looking you might have a look at http://www.renepaul.net/collection_verne_illustre/

Anybody interested in this DVD can contact B. Krauth by using this form: Formular

He will inform you then about ways of payment and whatever is necessary to be known. The DVD costs including postage and packing material outside Germany 5.-Euros (Payment via Paypal 6.-Euros to cover the fees). The price is with intention calculated only on base of the costs for material, production costs and postage - B. Krauth does not intend to gain any money with that, he likes to give everyone interested in the Verne illustrations the chance to get these illustrations. Depending on the quantity of demands it might take some time to have the posting ready...
