The dates have also been a bugaboo to me as well. I notice that none of
your authors who have addressed the problem have been translated into
English. Do we have anything in English that you can refer us to? Do Brian
and Steve address this in their upcoming encyclopedia? We are left to guess
that Verne never thought that his readers would pay much attention to
dates/years.

i would really like to see Compere or Simon Vierne translated into English.
The only biographer of Verne that I know of who has been translated from
non-English to English is that dubious Allotte de la Fuye.
Please correct if I am in error.
