Fellow Vernians:

It is not often that you can stroll into your local bookstore and behold
a new Jules Verne first edition on sale. I am pleased to say that today,
I had this serendipitous experience. Although I knew Paris in the 20th
Century was forthcoming, I wasn't expecting it this soon.

I had the benefit of reading the galley proof, and I was most pleased
with the story, translated in such a fine way. The final hardback has
Eugen Weber's introduction, but the illustrations I can only describe
as minimalist. The dust jacket is very nice, and the "J.V." initials
are stamped on the front cover.

We can now expect to see book reviews galore.

Best wishes to all of you (except that Zig person),

Steve Michaluk
