Dennis, I don't understand how you did it. I travel by train every week,
on Monday morning and Friday evening. You are in the country for one week,
and you find a Verne article in Rails. By the way, Rails is a magazine
published by the railroad company, to prevent their travellers from being
bored.
I'll try to get an issue of this. I hope that I will be able to get one
for all of you who would like to have it. Will you let me know if you want
it?
Also I will try to get more information about this play (previews etc.)

Here is the translation of the article:

A future long gone by

"I would consider publication of this work disastrous for your name.
Nobody is going to believe your prophecy." These words were written by
Jules Verne's publisher after he had written the manuscript of "Paris au
XXe siecle" The publisher had also scribbled in the margin: "You are nuts"
and "Far below your level". Verne put the manuscript away and never looked
at it again. Then his greatgrandson found it in a bronze safe and it
published after all. "De Toneelschuur Haarlem" brings the novel as a
mechanically moved, romantical play in 3D.

In the book, that Verne wrote about 1963, he gives his pessimistic view of
Paris 100 years later. Paris has become an inhumane city where man only
works and fun no more exists. For women there is no place in this society,
because children are made in an entirely different manner.
In this depressing city the main person Michel finishes his literaturte
study, for which he is laughed at at the reception. Literature and other
arts are not important anymore, people are only interested in subjects
with numbers and technics. By a quest Michel finds some fellows who make
music secretly, keep old books and mourn about the loss of a human
society. And he falls in love with his literature professor's daughter,
whom he meets in the secret, underground library.

27 - 30 december try-outs De Toneelschuur Haarlem,
10 - 12 january Schouwburg Rotterdam,
15 - 18 january Grand Theatre Groningen.
