There are a number of good web sites on Jules Verne which include
information about his life and books. Some of them are:

The Life and Work of Jules Verne

        http://avery.med.virginia.edu/~mtp0f/flips/jules.html

Dennis Kytasaari has written a page describing all of Verne's books and
short stories with a brief description of their plots.

        http://www.xnet.com/~djk/JulesVerne_Works.shtml

The North American Jules Verne society page does not have a biography
but it does have links to many other Verne pages which do.

        http://www.interlog.com/~anash/najvs.html

Another great resource is Zvi Har'El's page which has links to many
good Verne sites and some peripheral references to Verne and his
works.

In addition, you should look at some of the books on Verne which will
go into more detail and should be in your library. Some of the ones
which I can put my hands on quickly include:

Born, Franz. THE MAN WHO INVENTED THE FUTURE: JULES VERNE
(Prentice Hall, 1963; Scholastic (paperback), 1967).

Costello, Peter. JULES VERNE: INVENTOR OF SCIENCE FICTION
                (Scribners, 1978).

de la Fuye, Marguerite Allotte. JULES VERNE: PROPHET OF A
                NEW AGE (Coward-McCann, 1956).

Peare, Catherine O. JULES VERNE: HIS LIFE (Holt, 1956).

Waltz, George H. Jr. JULES VERNE: THE BIOGRAPHY OF AN
                IMAGINATION (Holt, 1943).

There are some more recent books which have been published. Your
librarian can help you find the books which are in your library.

Good luck on your paper. I hope you will post a copy of it to this
Internet mailing list.
