Of course I am aware there are far better translations. Since I am inept at
french it was done only as an exercise to try to read the chapter in french
and try to get the flavor into some english. I dod not look at any of the
newer xlations, and I am sure they are far superior and done by people who
actually know french. However I believe the document shows that even a
person ignorant of french can extract a great deal from the french original
using english cognates etc. Puns, subtle humor, and the like will be left
to the experts.
