I believe this chapter was contained, although possibly in abbreviated
form, in the original translation, accompanied by a note apologizing for
its content. However, the chapter was eliminated entirely from the 1960s
"Fitzroy" version by the censorious Englishman I.O. Evans--demonstrating
how the adjustment of Verne's political views has continued in modern
times.
