I wasn't sure what book to start with!

I'm just trying to sit down and make sense of the family tree that I
haven't up until now, tried to understand. Thanks.. Andrew

PS one more question.
Can you answer me why sometimes Jean Jules Verne is written:
Jean Jules-Verne, and sometimes Jean-Jules Verne. Is the dash actually part
of his given name, or is it added now for effect?
Is this a french thing? For instance in your name.
In English, we might have a name like "Rose-Marie" which might actually
have a hyphen in it!
