Dear friends,

the 80 second adventure is taking shape. the plan is as follows. As soon as
we have enough participants along a closed circle around the globe more or
less following Foggs route, weŽll try to find the right moment to form a
webring.
At a preset time, I will send the title of the first chapter of the book, in
Dutch, to the next participant, who will be awaiting my mail. He or she then
adds IN HIS OR HER OWN LANGUAGE the title of the chapter referring to his or
her region and forwards the lot to the next perticipant in line. He or she
repeats the procedure. Hopefully we will have a listing of as many chapters
as possible back in my mailbox within 80 seconds.
A minute and 20 seconds is an awfull short period to do this. Preparation
and coordination are essential for succes. First of all you have to find a
copy of Vernes Le tour du monde en 80 yours and decide which chapter fits
you best. Have these lines ready in your computer in a format you can attach
easily to a forwarded message.
To make things worse, since we will be crossing all time zones some of us
have to be up at very unusual times indeed to participate. Since Europe is
halfway between the east and the west I will volunteer to take the hard part
as much as I can. This meas I will have to send my message around midnight.
This allows participants to the east early in the morning and to the west
late in the afternoon.
We now have participants in Holland, Italy, Greece, Israel, India, possibly
Hong Kong, and the US. Still urgently missing are Great Brittain, France,
Egypt, Japan. Verne fans from these regions are invited once again to
participate. If anyone knows potential candidates, please bring our project
to their attention.

Perhaps the best moment is next weekend? Please let me know directly at
tijn~at~euronet.nl your wishes and possibilities, so I can figure out the best
option.

Do not hesitate to contact me if there are any questions.

Cheers,

martijn

I'm in India which was a part of Fogg's itinerary, but I'm quite hazy as to
what the project entails.
