A Jules Verne Stamp in Israel (finally)

Dear Friends,

The Israeli artist Avi Katz was very kind to tell me about a Jules Verne stamp
which he designed and which will be issued in Israel in the day of the (real)
new millennium, 01/01/2001. The stamp is one of a series of three, dedicated to
Science Fiction, issued to commemorate the ArmageddonCon,
http://armageddoncon.org/ , an international Science Fiction and Fantasy
convention which "will climax with a midnight countdown to the end of the
millennium, January 1st, 2001, at the most likely location for the end of the
world, Armageddon." You can preview the First Day Cover in Avi's Online
Gallery, at the location http://www.avikatz.com/sf/sfstamps.htm . A higher
resolution version the FDC design and of the stamps may be previewed in the JVF
private directory http://JV.Gilead.org.il/forum/private/avikatz/ . The Israeli
Philatelic Service has not yet announced the stamps officially, and Avi has
sent me the stamps as a special gesture to me and to the Jules Verne Forum.
