Dear Ian,

There do exist translations of this novel, but it seems that not all of
them are adequate. There has recently been a discussion in the Jules Verne
Forum about translations to English, and various editions of Le Sphinx des
Glaces were discussed. You could have a look at
http://JV.Gilead.org.il/forum/2000/02/

Forum members - perhaps you can advise Ian about which edition to look
for, so he won't have to browse through the entire discussion?

Regards,
Garmt.
