Forum members,

Do any of you know of articles discussing Verne's popularity in
America. I am especially interested in the reception given Journey
to the Center of the Earth when it first appeared in the US in 1873.
Was it serialized? If so, by whom? Did anyone besides Scribner
publish the novel, etc.? Any references you can give will be
appreciated, but if you have written such an article and can send an
offprint I would be especially grateful.
