Funnily enough, I saw a copy of the Gregg Press reprint of An Antarctic Mystery the other day in the State Library of New South Wales (Australia). The title page says that it is a reprint of an 1899 US original translation and it is 336 pages. I seem to recall the translation was by a woman but I didn't write down the name. It 's not listed on their web catalogue which mainly lists books received after 1980 but it's catalogue number is N843.8 / V531 / 91. Their website is www.slnsw.gov.au but I don't know how helpful they will be.

They also have The Mystery of Arthur Gordon Pym published by Arco in 1960. This is a combination of Poe's story and The Sphinx of the Ice-Fields translated by I.O. Evans.

Regards,
Peter.
