Dear friends,
A long time ago, I visited the JV museum in Nantes. I remember they had a
map of the world, on which the itineraries of Fogg, Strogoff and a few
others were marked with little light bulbs. Recently, this somehow
inspired me to do something similar on the web. So with a little help from
my colleague who is a real Perl guru, I created a cgi script that allows
you to see the different itineraries on a world map.
You can see the preliminary result at
http://www.phys.uu.nl/~gdevries/voyages/world.cgi or
http://www.phys.uu.nl/~gdevries/voyages/monde.cgi
where I incorporated 10 journeys.
I will add more itineraries later. It takes some time to get all the
coordinates of the different locations along the way. If you happen to
have them for some journey, I'd be happy to hear it!
Regards,
Garmt.
