An excellent idea! Here's a site that has a world bathymetric map available
for public use.

http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/image/2minrelief.html

There's a lot to work with here. We could try to use something like this to
plot the Nautilus coordinates. It's easy enough to save these images. The
real trick is to slip them into Garmt's program.

Just to get really ridiculous, we could somehow color code Garmt's course
lines to indicate depth of the Nautilus as it traveled around the world. So
not only would we be able to see where Nautilus traveled but how deep at a
particular location (except for when the submarine goes "underground" in The
Sargasso Sea at a depth reported by Verne of 16,000 meters!)

I would certainly be interested in getting hold of this publication or at
least copies of the maps. Depending on the cost, I might be interested in
multiple copies, perhaps 100 or more, depending on what Ron wants to do with
it. We are traveling to 8-10 high schools in the spring to produce a short
adapted teen's play of 10K with a followup visit on Verne and such an atlas
could be perfect for this audience. What do you think, Ron?

Thanks for those creative ideas, Stuart.
