I seem to recall that Sean was in most urgent need of these maps so perhaps
these should go to him first, since Walter also offered to lend him his copy
of the book for scanning.

If Sean could scan the book and photocopies etc, and put a set of all
scanned pages etc on a CDR and send the disc to me, I'd be happy to rework
the document into a PDF file and make it available via
www.verneatlas.f2s.com. Not having seen the atlas I cannot say the exact
content but in the interests of keeping the file smaller for downloading it
would be worth replacing any graphic format text not actually within a
drawing or map with matching conventional font text. This would be done by
cropping the scans down, dropping them into Word or suchlike, resetting the
rest of the text within Word and then outputting the PDF file.

The best scan format would of course be uncompressed TIFF files, I would
suggest at 300 dpi, which should retain most detail before the resetting is
done.

Perhaps Sean could let us know what he prefers to do?

Stuart

I found that I have either good copies or the original drawings for
about 2/3 of the maps (and all of the drawings of the "inventions"
and whatnot). I can send these to whomever is going to be doing
the copying. All of the routes on the maps are keyed by number to
a list of the novels and stories and this list should, of course,
accompany the maps.
