Yes, this is entirely possible...really, just about anything is (!)
I will provide on CD to Stuart and Ron (and anyone else who puts in a
request) the 20K maps and illustrations in TIFF and JPG/GIF, depending on
which format wins with size and printing. I'll also provide thumbnails and
pages--a photo album--such as that produced by Dreamweaver. This is probably
the style of web page that I will post on the Project Nautilus section of my
web site.
You can get an idea of how Dreamweaver creates a photo album on my personal
web site,
http://www.seanboy.com/monterey/index.htm which features images of
the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Pacific Grove (California, USA) areas.
My goal is to get the bulk of the 20K maps together is a couple weeks (but
timelines have a way of snaking out of control!) Walter Miller sent me a map
He is working on for the new edition of his 20K translation so if anyone has
anything else to contribute, please feel free to send them to me via snail
mail: Sean Chamberlin, 515 3/4 East Wilshire Ave, Fullerton, CA 92832 (714)
871-6730.
Also...Stuart has an interesting idea for fundraising for the various Verne
Societies. I think it really will depend on the good graces of the
contributors. I'm certainly willing to assist such efforts in any way I can.
Warm regards from sunny southern California,
Sean
