Empire Online reports that Jackie Chan will begin work on a remake of Around the World in Eighty Days once he has completed work on Shanghai Knights, the sequel to Shanghai Noon, which brings Roy and Chon to London to chase down Jack the Ripper. Jackie Chan will play Jean Passepartout, the butler of Phileas Fogg, a man who has bet his entire fortune that he can circle the globe in eighty days. However, just before he leaves, the Bank of England is robbed and Detective Fix is convinced Fogg has commited the crime and sets out in pursuit. Not much yet is known about the production or due date of the film as of yet.
