REPLY: Another irony is that such "correct" casting was not the graphic novelist's own thought for this project either -- he had suggested to the filmmakers that the video equivalent of his pastiche style would be casting actors who had played the roles in other versions ("Richard Chamberlain as Allan Quatermaine, Winona Ryder who was Mina Harker in Coppola's DRACULA . . . ") So his suggested Nemo was Michael Caine, because of that TV miniseries a few years back (at least it wasn't Ben Cross!)
