Mes amis,
We discussed this a couple of years ago on the Forum. Here's a brief
bibliography that I posted at that time:

Of the three, the Cashel Hoey translation (1898 Sampson Low, 1899
Lippincott) titled _The Antarctic Mystery_ is the best. It was reprinted
(facsimile) by Gregg Press in 1975 with a fairly good introduction by David
Hartwell.
As James rightly points out, the 1961 version published by London: Arco and
Westport, CT: Associated in the "Fitzroy" series--this particular title
being edited by a certain Basil Ashmore instead of I.O. Evans--is to be
avoided. It is heavily abridged.
