There is an article in today's New York Times ( Dec. 9, 2002), page B1, about
the one hundreth anniversary of the Circumnavigator's Club. "The club was
founded when people still marveled at Nellie Bly for shaving eight days off
Jules Verne's notion of going aroung the world in 80."
