Subject: Location of Flip-Island? And other questions

Dear all,

I am constantly extending my collection of itineraries for the interactive
maps at http://www.phys.uu.nl/~gdevries/voyages/world.cgi. At the moment I
have the itineraries of all the novels in the Voyages Extraordinaires, and
of most of the short stories. There are a few titles I have problems with,
and I would appreciate your advice:

- Frritt-Flacc, Famille Raton and Journee d'un jornaliste take place at
unspecified locations, if I'm not mistaken. Or is Centropolis c.q.
Universal-City in this last story the same city as New York or Washington?

- Is the location of Flip-Island in L'Oncle Robinson known?

- Has the city of C..., where Anselme de Tilleuls lives, been identified?

Best regards,
Garmt.

Having prefaced and annotated the first edition of Le Mariage de M. Anselme des Tilleuls, I have the feeling the city of C.... is with no doubt Nantes. In this hilarious short story, Verne "regle des comptes" with his former professors at the schools and lycees of Nantes.
