The friendship with Nadar. When started it?

Dear friends!

I am a little bit confused about the connection
between Jules VERNE and Felix TOURNACHON (Nadar).
After reading some biographies about Verne, I have an
image of Verne meeting Nadar through his publisher
HETZEL in 1863. This meeting should have happened
after the publishing of the novel "5 weeks in a
ballon".

But I am also reading other sources that think Verne
met Nadar long time before writing this novel. In
fact, they clearly states that Verne was inspired by
"Le géant" made by Nadar & c:o. I guess that must be
very wrong; if I remember it correctly, "Le géant"
wasn't flying before the summer of 1863...? But was
Verne in company of Nadar before meeting Hetzel? What
is really correct about this?

I don't know how much you know about Nadar's
unsuccesful flight to German in company with his crew,
consisting his young wife. But maybe someone is
well-informed and can confirm to me that the pilot of
"Le géant" was the same pilot that took Verne up to
the skies of Amiens some years later?

And one more question: Is there any records left from
the aviation club Nadar founded with help from Verne
that year? I have seen that Verne was working as a
secretary for that society, but I haven't found any
documents (in english) from that project. As far as I
have done little research, I guess there must be half
of a book to describe this company, and the plans for
the future they was working onto. The giant ballon had
a lift-off in front of a huge crowd in Paris, so I
guess Verne must have been present.

Beside this, I have been working on a shorter novel
about a fictional son of Nadar, and I would like to
know more about the Tournachon family. Are there any
good information about him aviable?

Thanks!

Best regards
Peter Harold
