The whole controversy about Briand-Briant (and a connection to JV's
possible hommosexuality) ended when I published (after Olivier Dumas was
part of the debate) a fac-simile of the letter written by Verne to Hetzel
June 16, 1877 where a quick (and wrong) reading of JV's handwriting could
be "Briand" instead of Michel in the 5th line of the letter:
Bulletin de la Société Jules Verne, 2e trimestre 1982, vol. 16, no 62, p. 210.

This letter is available in the 2nd volume of the letters between JV and
Hetzel, #389, p. 189.

Happy new year to everybody!
