Dear Garmt, dear all,

Sorry for the misquote. The LAROUSSE is of course too old for
La Landelle (this name cannot be found). I mean the structure,
which is very clear: the "particule" DE always belongs to the
first name and "La" is part of the family name, whether or not
it is written in one word or two or even more words.

Examples :

La Marck (Guillaume de)
La Martilière (Pierre de)
La Mothe Le Vayer (François de)
La Perrière (Guillaume de)

... je m'en passe et des meilleurs.

The structure is simple : the first names always end up in "DE",
the rest is the last name.

This method is also adopted by German dictionaries : La Fontaine,
La Mettrie, La Motte Fouqué... are all found under L.

Is this different in Dutch dictionaries?
