Dear Norm,

> Having sent the preliminary registration, and nothing in return, and

Today I received a letter from Sagacom with the confirmation of my
preliminary registration, including the same form we had already received
through the Forum. Returning that form and paying for the programme before
11 February will make the registration final. So it seems the machinery is
getting started. The letter will probably take a little longer to reach
the States, but you can expect it any day now.

That's what Sagacom told him, indeed. In later messages they contradicted
this, positively stating that you must pay in advance. What to believe?

More people on your side of the ocean seem to have the same problem. And
while the JVF members have been lucky enough to receive at least the
registration form by mail, other Vernians may still be waiting for this
information. If Sagacom send the payment details this late, they cannot
reasonably expect everyone to pay before the 11 Feb deadline.

So I think you should just fax/mail/send your registration form to
Sagacom, asking once more for a solution to the payment problem. Perhaps
the CIJV, that apparently accepts credit card payments, can serve as a
go-between?

At any rate, please don't let these troubles discourage you from coming!
There is no question of sitting around doing nothing and waiting for your
flight home. Once you're there, if you have sent in the registration form,
you should simply be allowed on board. Otherwise there will be plenty of
us protesting...

I'm not speaking on behalf of Sagacom of course, but I think we'll sort it
all out.

Cheers,
Garmt.
