Norm,
The review referred to in The Times appeared in The Scotsman, Saturday 12 March. It was written by Jim Gilchrist, who seems to be quite well informed on Verne ( and is a keen bagpiper!). The book in question reviewed is The Underground City, a new translation of Les Indes Noires, to which I provided a Foreward and a map and gave a lecture at the Edinburgh launch. The Scotsman published a two page broadsheet review with photographs from which The Times extract is derived.

The London Times of March 26 contains an article on Verne. It says an (un-named) Scotch reviewer called "Underground City" Brigadoon with Davey lamps. Is this reviewer one of us? or is this another case of "English (or French) bards and Scotch Reviewers"
