Hi,

I am looking for information on the second edition of;
The Mysterious Island: The Secret of the Island
copyright 1876
Sampson Low
London

This is apparently identical (binding and contents) to the 1875 first London
edition. I have a copy of the second edition but it is lacking the front
free end paper and possibly also a half title and frontispiece, I would like
to know if there was originally a half title page and frontispiece present.
The pagination of the prelims is pp.I-VI with p.I being the title page and
the prelims and text are complete according to the table of contents, also
all the plates are present according to the list of illustrations but there
is no frontispiece mentioned in the list.

So should I have a half title and a frontispiece even though these are not
indicated by the pagination from the table of contents or the list of
illustrations ?

many thanks for any advice.
