Project Gutenberg has had a makeover of their web page, and it is now much easier to find books which was often like looking for golf balls.

If you know the ID number of the book you want, a page can be retrieved listing all possibilities for that work simply by entering for example:

http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/83 will return the master page for Mercier's Earth to the Moon.

The earlier books have only text format, but many of those > 1000 have readable html files as well, usually single file and now original page image scans are becoming available. (HTML was not in use until about 800).

I have also included a listing of all the Verne books on PG. Posting on PG is beneficial as the mirroring process guarantees survival of the text. The listing is at:

http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/docs/books/sherwood/PGVerneH.htm

From this you will see I must correct my previous email: both versions of Dick Sand and Dick Sands are on PG. The listing gives the Vxxx number from the JVE; PG ID; title, Language, translator, and edition/publisher. As multiple translations become available it will be necessary to keep track of the publisher. Early PG did not identify where the books came from, later ones sometimes do, but I have added enough to identify the tranlation from JVE or Evans' list.

I will be updating ths list from time to time.
