Project Gutenberg can only post books which can pass copyright clearance in
the US. That means a tif or png of the title page and the reverse side which
shows copyright information (often blank for foreign books) and if blank an
indication that the book was printed before 1920, i.e. a Hetzel edition.
So far no one has emailed me any tiff's. I have been able to get those on
for which I have a Livre de Poche, as those are acceptable. Some have pdf's
of the title page on Gallica. Otherwise someone has to email me the tiff's.
So far no one has.
The only other possibility is a management agreement between PG and Quebec
or editionsgratuit to wholesale them over. I am not optimistic about this.
