My understanding is that "L'Ile Tabor" or "Maria Theresa" does not really
exist. If this is true, are there any islands in the general area where
Verne locates Tabor and Lincoln Islands?

What sort of climate and ecology do any such islands have (or what sort of
climate and ecology would we expect to find on an island in that general
area?)? My impression is that this area is to the south of the horse
latitudes, so it ought to have pronounced seasons and some antarctic
climatic influence. But I don't know this for certain. Who does?
