I'm not sure this news was already meant to be known to all on the JVG-list!

Indeed I am an JVG-member and the book will be on sale to members and
non-members in due time, once the board has decided when and how, and what
the price is going to be. Furthermore, I have to make three changes yet
(title page, colofon, cover) to make the final version.
So for now please do not order it yet!!!

For this edition I used the text as published in Dutch in 1900 (the only
available edition) and formatted that in a nice way, correcting evident
printing errors and making the spelling consistent (without modernising it).

The Dutch version from 1900 is a translation of the French, leaving out
parts of the text, so that the Dutch version is shorter than the French and
had only a part of the original illustrations.

For the re-adaptation I have used all 81 illustrations from the original,
like the text supplied by Rein Saariste. Since part of the original text is
missing from the translation, it was not possible to place all illustrations
near the text they refer to, so I had to fiddle a bit with their location.

As the JVG-board can confirm, the illustrations and in fact the whole book
are of good quality.

Best wishes,

Jos.
