Dear Ralf,

The present resolution is extremely high, much better than a photocopy, and
in fact better than having the original: you just have to wait a few seconds
after the initial image appears. I can send you one as an attached file if
you still have problems.

Unfortunately, no doubt as a security device, you can't get more than a
third of the sheet on screen. I can't think of a way of reassembling the
pieces, although Photoshop will semi-automatically assemble "panorama" shots
into one. Any ideas anyone?

If anyone knows a way of filtering out different colours, that would be
useful as well, especially when there is red crossing out on black text. I
remember Norm (I think) told us how to remove yellow "liver-spots" (I forget
the exact term) from b-and-w images.

Dear Bill,

Thank you for the link. Will the resolution of the final scans
be higher than that of the two sample pages available so far
for each novel? I hope so, because it's impossible to read the
actual text. Do you know?
