Dear Ian,

I just return from a one-week-trip where I had no communication with www. This second letter is strange, in fact. I could imagine that the one of the Taylor Institue was the oiginal one, and that Smith asked Verne for an identical one, for he wanted to print Verne's handwriting (the French National Library has only this reproduction published in the Revue des Revues) and the first was illisible. I have no other explication of this little enigma...

I found here the new Bulletin containing your article. I think that if your copies did not still arrive, you will receive them soon.
