The Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History is seeking a LOAN
of a rare or first edition of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (French or
English) for display in a temporary gallery associated with their new
exhibit "Oceans" opening in September 2008 and on exhibit for 18 months.
The display is going to show examples of art, literature, and other
items that have been inspired by the Ocean. If you have an edition that
you would be willing to LOAN for this exhibit, please contact Sarah
Grusin, Office of Exhibits, 202-633-1137 or grusins~at~si.edu to get more
information. Please be assured that all objects placed on exhibit are
attended to by museum conservators and follow strict rules about works
of paper. Credit to the lender would be given in the label.
